§ 1. General provisions

This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules for storing and accessing information on the User’s device by means of cookies and other similar technologies, used to provide services electronically through the interplay.events website (“Website”).

This Policy implements the information obligation arising from Article 173 of the Polish Telecommunications Law of 16 July 2004, and Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), to the extent that cookies involve the processing of personal data (e.g. online identifiers).

§ 2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files saved by a web browser on the User’s device when visiting websites. They may be read on subsequent visits, either by the Website itself or by third parties whose components are embedded in the Website.

§ 3. Legal basis
  • Article 173 of the Polish Telecommunications Law of 16 July 2004 (Journal of Laws 2004, No. 171, item 1800, as amended);
  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR), in particular Article 6(1)(a) — the User’s consent (functional, analytics and marketing cookies) and Article 6(1)(f) — the Controller’s legitimate interest (strictly necessary cookies);
  • Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (the “ePrivacy Directive”).
§ 4. Categories of cookies used

Necessary for the proper functioning of the Website. They cannot be disabled within the Website.

  • Form security (csrf_token) — session cookies
  • Storing the cookie consent decision (cookie_consent) — up to 12 months

§ 5. Third-party cookies and transfer of data outside the EEA

The providers listed above may transfer data to countries outside the European Economic Area (including the United States), in particular to the parent companies Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. Such transfers are carried out on the basis of mechanisms compliant with the GDPR, including standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or, for providers participating in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, on that basis. Detailed information on the safeguards applied is available in the respective providers’ privacy policies.

§ 6. Managing cookies

Cookie settings can be changed directly in the browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Opt-out with third-party providers:

  • Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
  • Personalized advertising: optout.aboutads.info
  • Meta/Facebook: ad settings within the Facebook service

Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Website from functioning properly.

§ 7. Retention period
  • Session cookies — deleted when the browser is closed.
  • Persistent cookies — stored for the period indicated in the “expires” parameter, for a maximum of 26 months, after which the User’s consent must be renewed.
§ 8. Rules for granting consent

On the first visit to the Website, a banner is displayed allowing the User to manage consent for each cookie category. Consent is:

  • Freely given — refusal does not block access to the core functionality of the Website;
  • Specific — granted separately for each category of cookies;
  • Informed — preceded by full information on the purposes and entities processing the data;
  • Unambiguous — requires an active action (a click); no boxes are pre-ticked by default, other than for strictly necessary cookies;
  • Revocable — the User may change or withdraw consent at any time via the link in the Website footer; withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, in accordance with Article 7(3) GDPR.
§ 9. User rights

To the extent that cookies involve the processing of personal data, the User has the right to:

  • access their data and obtain a copy of it,
  • rectify (correct) their data,
  • erase their data,
  • restrict the processing of their data,
  • object to the processing,
  • data portability,
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal,
  • lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland.
§ 10. Changes to the Policy

The Controller reserves the right to amend this Policy, in particular in connection with changes in the law, technological developments, or changes to the functionality of the Website. The current version of the Policy is always available on the Website. Users will be informed of any material changes through an appropriate notice on the Website.
